Hello! This is Mi-chan. This time, I visited StrapyaNext which sells cell-phone straps online, in Odawara City, Kanagawa.
Description of business
We sell goods online, as well as conducting a business to provide a system which supports online shopping (Next Engine).
With regard to selling over the internet, we design and sell, both to individuals and wholesale (including to major retail chains) straps for cell phones.
We developed a management system for online shopping websites, which allows site administrators to conduct total management by integrating website features, including the management of receiving and placing orders, and inventory control.
Also, we have started to expand both our online shopping business and its system overseas. We started business in Europe and America 7 to 8 years ago. We have also started to develop a business targeting China, and we plan to set up an office in Shanghai.
On the subject of environment, we wanted to develop products which last a long time and are environmentally friendly at the same time, so we developed solar goods first. In addition to this, we sell products with emission credit attached to it, and by doing so, it enables to offset CO2 which was produced during the manufacturing and delivering process, as much as possible.
Total management system Next Engine also make it possible for the work which normally takes ten people to do, to be managed only with two people. Consequently, it leads to the reduction of cost and energy consumption, thus it is also environmentally friendly.

The word ‘environment’ means totally different things in the business world from what we think the word ‘environment’ means. I would like to discuss various topics, starting from developing environmentally friendly products and systems. I hope to keep the balance between the environment and business.

The first impression I had when I visited Mr. Higuchi’s company was that everyone is young! Lively! Lovely atmosphere! They enjoy working in a bright and spacious office.
We visited Odawara Castle and Hotoku Ninomiya shrine located on its premises. Here, Mr. Higuchi purchased a model of Sontoku Ninomiya as a reference to the Sontoku Ninomiya cell-phone straps, which is their new project.
In the time of recession, it is a very good idea to make these cell-phone straps as Sontoku Ninomiya’s popularity might increase because of the shrine’s reputation for giving good fortune to businesses.
After the visits, we went to our hotel, Fujita-ya, which is a Japanese inn with a hot-spring. We had delicious meal, and a lovely soak in the hot spring; it was very relaxing and refreshed all of us.
