Members of the remote island development session meeting participated in Islander 2003. Please take a look at the event.
We enjoyed this year’s event again, which included an introduction to the tourism and culture of each island, a workshop, the promotion of specialty goods, a panel exhibition, and interaction with people from the remote islands.

A keynote speech was given by Mr. Jack Moyer, who sadly passed away in January 2004. He will be thoroughly missed by all of us.
A small symposium regarding drifted rubbish and issues regarding waste products in remote islands was held.
Chairman Yoshida discussed waste products involving fishing tools.
Photographs of beautiful scenery and living creatures from remote islands were displayed.
The very vibrant sound of the islands; it had a tremendous impact.
There was also interaction with student interns and people from Okushiri Island.
